Devil's Post Piles National Monument

  This summer, on our way to baby blessing we did some camping in the Mammoth Lake area and took the day trip to Post Piles National Monument.  The Post Piles are formed by cooling lava which then separates into hexagonal columns.  They cool and then erosions exposes the side.  From the top it would be a floor of hexagons.

 Wildflowers are like nature's spices, they seem to add the right touch to a scene.  These are at emigration cam Ground, Cache National Forest off of Highway 30 about seventeen miles west of Montpelier, Idaho.

August 2021 Tea with Grandkids

 

One of my favorite experiences as a youth was tea at the home of Sister Fohr in Carbondale.  So when I inherited Grandma's china, I wanted to host a tea with the grandchildren.  When most of the grandkids were here over the summer, Natalia's daughter, Charity's children and Caleb's, the plan to host the tea was put into place.  Sheri made lots of sugar cookies, and the smaller ones were set aside for the tea. Instead of tea we had lemonade and milk in the tea cups.  We also had marshmallows in the sugar bowl, crackers and cheese and pepperoni and every good thing.  We also invited Sheri, my wife to join us.  It was a special time.  I got some of the kids to tell stories.  I told stories, including Aunt Ruth the slobbery kisser and about Grandma Wright whose china we were using.

 There was a quilt show on the upper level of the National Oregon/California Trail Center in Montpelier, Idaho.  This is a good sample.

Pickle Ball Court Put In Kingman House

 It was a big deal when the cement truck came and grandkids were able to watch.  August 2021

WE have been working on our backyard for sometime.  This is in East Kingman.  We had grand babies over and hoped it would be done so they could play.  They did get the grass turf patch done for them However. the cement wasn't done before they arrived but while they were here.   The kids really enjoyed watching the cement truck--even though it was early in the morning.  They said 6:30 but they actually arrived at 5:30.  We hope to use the cement pad for basketball and pickle ball.   We hope to add some pavers, some trees and some gravel.

Tony's Eighth Grade Graduation. June 2021

 Tony graduated and even marched as COVID restrictions were lessened the last couple weeks of school.  (However Tony did stay home for a week as he had been close to someone who developed COVID at school.  Tony even received several citizenship awards even though he was only at Kingman Middle School for a quarter.   Liza McNeil was in town and attended with us.  With remote learning Tony really had a hard time with school.  He did great before that.  Of course he started at Veritas School but he finished strong at Kingman Middle School.
