The original paintings of Gary Stone used in the book Stone by Stone on the Oregon Trail, written by his wife, are on permanent display at the National Oregon/California Trail Center. There are 44 paintings in all. I can't find them but they say his own face is in each painting, his wife's carved name, and a Native American. This is a small sample.
