Thanksgiving 1986

This is the house in Hyrum.  However at this time it is the Buff home.
The first picture is all the men.  Mark is in the picture, so back from his mission, and I assume married by this time.  Joey is on his dad's lap, then Buffy, Mark, Charlie, Aaron and Kelly.  Front row is Dustin with Weldon, I am holding Matt and then Jed.
the second picture has Linsey at Sara's lap, Amber on Connie's lap, Mom, Katherine behind, Sheri, Natalia on Sue's lap,  In the front is Geneve, Diane, Krista and Connie.

Thanksgiving: 1983

This is my mom and grand babies.  I can't place where this picture was taken.  That orange couch should be a give away.  This was the first year Sheri and I were married.  The grandkids are all there with the exception of Jed.  I can't seem to find him.  Linsey is the baby Buffy is holding.  Krista is holding Joey, Katherine is holding Amber.  Grandma has Matt on her lap.  He does not look happy.  Aaron and Dustin are on the left.

Ileen Wardle Family Reunion: Tulock Lake, Ca

This was a fun time.  We had a trampoline and boat provided by the Normans, and had a great time playing in the water and eating and playing games. I am not sure of the year, but probably early 2000's.

Thanksgiving: 1993

The celebration this year was at the Buff home again.  This time they were living in Tremonton.

The family has grown significantly.  I think is shortly after this we moved to Mom's church.

Thanksgiving 1984

This was a large family thanksgiving.  We continued to have these through the years, and eventually had to move to grandma's church they were so large.  This is an early year.  Sheri is pregnant with Billy Boy in this picture.

Poetry I Like: Family

Family
By Tim Tarrant
No matter how great the distance, we return,

bearing the bruises of the paths we’ve chosen.

We come to join in laughter,

in comfort,

and in grief.

In this house spirits soar, souls dance,
and magically we make up for the lost time.
We gather in a whirling celebration of life
and like the rivers that run into the sea,
we are once again whole.

We take comfort in knowing that through moments of great joy
and times of sobering reality,
we are surrounded by all that we will
 ever need … each other.

Payson Lake camping.  We visited there a couple times with family camp outs.  The lake was about a mile past the camp site.  It was really fun, we would play on the beach, or go out in a rubber raft, or use some kayaks Weldon had brought, or just go swimming.  Clyde had some of the boys fishing.  Mark caught his first fish.  We also hiked around the lake several times.  It was a fun walk.  On the opposite end was a dock which went out over the lake, and allowed for jumping into the water.  That was fun too.
Back at camp there was lots of food.  Caleb was small, but he loved ball.  We would pitch him the ball and he would smack it.  He seemed to never miss.  He batted left handed.
The camp site is of of the Nebo loop.  It was always fun to take a ride further up the loop, and behine Nebo peak.  There were several view areas further up the loop which were fun.
The whole camping experience was fun, both years we did family camp outs there.

Missionary Farewell

When I served my mission, you were still allowed to have a missionary farewell, and there was a sacrament meeting devoted to the farewell.  In those days, sacrament meeting was generally later.  Because there were two missionaries, myself and Russell Egbert, leaving at the same time, we shared the farewell.  The missionary farewell was also an opportunity for ward members to donate money to the missionary, which was used to get you in the mission field.
My mom prepared a large meal for the farewell.  I must admit, I do not remember what I said.  But these pictures attest to the influence of my mother and relationships.  There was lots of family from my father's side.
