The Funniest Thanksgiving Bowl Movie

Family Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl 2015

Sheri almost makes the play; but not quite.  Miranda recorded this.  One of our funniest family videos.

Thanksgiving at Grandma's Church

For several years, every other year; we would venture to Grandma's church for Thanksgiving.  We had quite some feasts there.  Us guys would play basketball on the opposite end of the court from where we set up the tables.  The food was great, and well prepared and lots of it.  The day would always end with family pictures.

Thanksgiving 1986

This is the house in Hyrum.  However at this time it is the Buff home.
The first picture is all the men.  Mark is in the picture, so back from his mission, and I assume married by this time.  Joey is on his dad's lap, then Buffy, Mark, Charlie, Aaron and Kelly.  Front row is Dustin with Weldon, I am holding Matt and then Jed.
the second picture has Linsey at Sara's lap, Amber on Connie's lap, Mom, Katherine behind, Sheri, Natalia on Sue's lap,  In the front is Geneve, Diane, Krista and Connie.

Thanksgiving: 1983

This is my mom and grand babies.  I can't place where this picture was taken.  That orange couch should be a give away.  This was the first year Sheri and I were married.  The grandkids are all there with the exception of Jed.  I can't seem to find him.  Linsey is the baby Buffy is holding.  Krista is holding Joey, Katherine is holding Amber.  Grandma has Matt on her lap.  He does not look happy.  Aaron and Dustin are on the left.

Thanksgiving: 1993

The celebration this year was at the Buff home again.  This time they were living in Tremonton.

The family has grown significantly.  I think is shortly after this we moved to Mom's church.

Thanksgiving 1984

This was a large family thanksgiving.  We continued to have these through the years, and eventually had to move to grandma's church they were so large.  This is an early year.  Sheri is pregnant with Billy Boy in this picture.

Argentina Thanksgiving 1978

I was in Argentina for two Thanksgivings.  Thanksgiving is not a holiday in Argentina.  However my second year, just before I came home, Hermana Diaz wanted to do something special for us.  I suggested banana cream pie would be just the thing.  This is a tradition in our family.  They did not have banana pudding mix in Argentina at the time, but vanilla pudding was very common.  I never helped much at Thanksgiving so suggested putting bananas in vanilla pudding and that should be it.  It tasted very good, but not quite the same thing.

Logan Funhouse, Thanksgiving 2009

We all gathered in Logan last year for Thanksgiving.  This included all of my brothers and sisters as well as my mom.  Charity introduced Anthony to the family.  As for our family Mark was in Iraq and Jeremy in Colorado on his mission.  Otherwise we were all there.

Thanksgiving Through the Years

My memories of Thanksgiving have become blurred with Christmas.  The pre-Thanksgiving activities were usually at the school, telly the Mayflower story, constructing Thanksgiving turkeys with colorful feathers.
Often a feast at Aunt Audrey's in Pocatello made the day special.  Her home wasn't the largest, be we all seemed to find a place to eat, either in the living room with t.v. trays, or in the kitchen.  There was a great crowd there with many cousins.   Sometimes our attention would turn to football on the telly in the afternoon.
More recently a tradition has been for my mom's family to gather in Logan at her church on Thanksgiving about every third year.  These are busy days, and fun.  We use one end of the gym for we decorate, while in the other we get a basketball game going.  There is a t.v. set up with a movie.  The Thanksgiving meals are spectacular wit both ham and turkey.  I love ham gravy.  There are vegetable trays and all the side dishes you could think of--bean casserole, stuffing, cheese tray etc.  After the meal we would always take family pictures on the stairs in Grandma' church.  There would be a big group picture and then individual family pictures.
