Papillion Butterfly Benches

 There are 34 butterfly benches in Papillion according to the map.  Two are in schools and not open to the public.  I have just started looking for them.  You can access a map of the butterfly benches and their titles here.  I have seen 17 of 34.

Italian Mural: South Omaha Mural Project

 The Italian Mural is not in South Omaha, but it is in keeping with the common theme of representing different cultures which made up South Omaha.  The mural is located on the corner of Seventh street and Pacific on Orsi's Italian Bakery and Pizzeria.  The bakery has been there since 1916.  It is in the heart of Little Italy.  The mural has an Italian theme showing the boat bringing people to Ellis Island.   Two brothers came here from Carlentini near Sicily.  They set up a bank and then made arrangements for others from Carlentini to come to America.  There are now more descendants from Carlentini in Omaha than residents of Carlentini.  There are also religious themes and Italian food.

Quilt Display at Bellevue Public Library

 There has been a quilt display at the Bellevue library.  The quilts are very artistic.  They include stars, veteran's memorial quilt and a Nebraska quilt.  There is a booklet they have published with all the quilts and their story.  Thee are many more than shown here.

Projected Art in the Underpass, Gene Leahy Mall

 As part of the Mall there is an pedestrian underpass going under 10th street.  Along that underpass is a wall with projected design changing frequently.  The picture changes rather frequently and I don't know how many total there are, but it is pretty cool.  I watched for about ten minutes.
