Boy's Town Dowd Chapel: Stained Glass Window Art, Statues, Father Flanagan Tomb

 If anything the Dowd chapel is a ork of art, with many expressions of art within.  The stained glass windows represent Jesus or Mary.   There are also statues.  The mood in the tomb are set apart by the color of light coming through the stained glass.  The organ loft is incredible.

Caleb's Nauvoo Christmas Present to Us

Caleb sent home a dual painting of the Nauvoo Temple, old and new.  It was painted by Rick Noble.  We have had it framed, and I have hung it on the wall.  Hopefully it helps us remember him.

                                                 

Nauvoo Shows

 The pageant is over but the performances go through until general conference in October.  Most are performed by young missionaries who are very talented.  I have seen the Trail of Hope, Sisters in Zion, and Sunset by the Mississippi.  There are shows everyday; but there are less shows Sundays and Tuesdays.  Some require tickets which you can get at the visitor's center for no charge.

Other skits to see include, I am a Child of God, Praise His Name in Song and Dance, Youth of Zion, Remembering Joseph, and The Spirit of God.

The Tabernacle Choir is in Buenos Aires

 The choir is in Buenos Aires.  This is where I served my mission, and it makes me feel emotional listening to the choir and the people form South America.  I hope the link works for everyone.

Native American Mural: Gallup New Mexico

 This was inside a gas station in Gallup New Mexico.  We ended up there because another gas station had no gas.  TA Travel Center just off of the 40 on old highway 66.  

South Bend Museum of Art: 2023

 South Bend has a nice free art exhibit.  They have a permanent collection and rooms for rotating collection.  I visited by myself.

Art Exhibit of Nicole Havekost at South Bend Museum of Art

Using what appears to be cfreatures, this is a study of the human body; particularly the female body.  This exhibit was at the museum a couple years ago.  Somehow in her sewing you can feel the fatigue and embarrassment of the subjects with regards to their bodies.  This is a textile exhibit.
