We visited Disneyland for Christmas 2002.  We had a great time, but not represented well by these pictures.  Someone stole our camera, so this pictures are from a box camera we bought.

Family Trip to Bear River Bird Refuge

These pictures are from a family trip to Bear River Bird Refuge which is West of Brigham City.  They are all scenic.  There are some I am not sure of, but the pictures were all developed together, July 1972.  Some look to be of mountain scenery, and may be the same or a different trip.  Even the mountain scenery appears to be looking down on Willard Bay.

Grand Coulee Dam

One of the places my parents took us while we lived in Washington was to the Grand Coulee Dam.  I remember we were so high, and it was so big, it was hard to sea everything.  My dad I think had been with the older people before, but I'm not sure about that.  These pictures are from the dam with my Aunt Audrey's family. 

Grand Coulee is the largest energy producer in the United States, and on of the largest concrete structures in the world.  (Wikipedia) This article from the Othello Outlook talks of the dam.
April 5, 1962  Grand Coulee Opens April 18
One of the greatest tourist attractions in the State of Washington is Grand Coulee Dam, and as such it is the aim of the Bureau of Reclamation to make it as enjoyable as possible for the visitor.
During the past two years the tour charge at the dam was dropped; the top of the dam was opened to vehicular traffic; the tour of the right power house was put on a self-guided basis, the dam itself was opened to the public where they can view one of the many gallerys which honeycomb the dam; and another part will soon be opened to visitors.
On April 18 the pumping plant will be open for visitor viewing.  This plant houses the irrigation pumps required to lift the irrigation water 280 feet from the Lake Roosevelt into Banks Lake.  A part of the pumping plant tour will include a visit to the pumping plan exhibit room.  This room contains a 9-foot by 22-foot relief map of the entire Columbia Basin Project built by the Albrook Hydraulic Laboratory at the Institute of Technology at W.S.U., a series of exhibits prepared by the National Park Service at San Francisco and the walls her have murals painted on them.

Sheri and I: First Vacation to So Cal

Besides our honeymoon, which really wasn't more than one night ad Midway, between out two homes, our first vacation was to Southern California. We traveled for the sealing of Sheri's older brother, Terry to his wife and family of three children.  Terry was stationed at Camp Pendleton, and we spent a week with them.
Our vacation started with a trip to Death Valley.  I should mention, that as went through Tonopah, we saw a very unusual airplane, which was the F-117 stealth aircraft, still not publicly announced but familiar to the people of Tonopah.ty
We visited Scotty's Castle at Death Valley, The lowest point in the United States and the old Borax Mines where they had the 40-mule teams.

The reason for the trip was the sealing at the temple.  The ceremony was at the L.A. Temple.  We were hosted by Julie's parents the first few days.
After the ceremonies, we headed south and spent the week with terry and Julie.  It was a good base for activities.  Sheri and I spent a day at Sea World.

We went to Disneyland  We  went to Knottsberry Farm which was really fun but I have no pictures.

The beach was close to Pendleton, and the camp had a private beach.

Lion Country was also very fun for a drive through.

We went to San Diego Zoo with Julie and the her kids.  It was too large to see it all so we did the bus ride in the end. 

We als spent a day at Six Flags.  However this was a disappointment as it was a school day of some type with very long rides. so mostly standing in line and not much playing.
On the way home we toured Sequoia National Park.
